Our founder and Alchemist Vass has a love for foraging . Growing up, Vass would often go foraging with her family in the pine forests of Cyprus, the island of love and beauty. She vividly remembers her dad putting weeds in his mouth and eating wild herbs as he had such a strong and natural knowing of nature and wild foods. The sweet aroma of wild herbs and the thrill of discovering new plants was so infectious for Vass, and in a place in her life where it was overwhelming and stressful she found grounding and healing in forests and foraging. Vass realised that’s not just a way to connect with nature but also a powerful healing modality.

The hustle and bustle of modern life can take a toll on our physical and mental well-being. Our bodies crave the fresh air and sunshine that come with being outdoors, yet we often find ourselves cooped up inside for hours on end. What if we told you that one way to connect with nature and improve your health is by foraging for wild food?

Foraging for wild food may sound like something out of a survival guide, but it’s actually a centuries-old tradition that humans have relied on for sustenance. Dandelions, mushrooms, wild mint and other wild plants are not only delicious but also packed with nutrients that can benefit your body in countless ways. In fact, studies have shown that wild edibles contain higher levels of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals than their cultivated counterparts as their genetic makeup has not been modified and they have a full spectrum of all the minerals they need.

But it’s not just about the nutritional value of wild food. Foraging also allows us to tap into our primal need to connect with nature. As humans, we have an innate desire to be outdoors, surrounded by the sights, smells, and sounds of the natural world. It’s no wonder that spending time in nature has been linked to reduced stress levels, improved mood, and increased energy.

When we forage for wild food, we’re not just harvesting ingredients for our next meal. We’re also immersing ourselves in the natural world and connecting with our ancestral roots. For many of us, this sense of belonging in nature is something we’ve been missing in our daily lives. By taking the time to forage, we’re reminding ourselves that we are part of something greater than ourselves.

Of course, it’s important to approach foraging with caution and respect for the environment. Make sure you’re familiar with the plants in your area and only harvest what you know is safe to eat. And always leave plenty behind for other creatures who rely on these plants for their own survival.

I hope this is a small inspiration to you, to step into nature and discover all she has to give that’s not only energetically healing but nutrient dense and full spectrum of vitamins and minerals that you won’t find in your local supermarket.

Eat real, energetic, alive food for healing.
